Me.. V in a nutshell...
My real name; Victoria Butler. My job; fashion designer for a major high-street supplier based in Manchester UK.Down to earth Cumbrian girl, honest,happy and gabby.
I was going to try to give you just TEN things to help you to get to know me,the person behind the blog. ...But i realised it was going to be more like 15 when i began writing!! Here goes:
- Born on the 21st September 1987 in Workington Cumbria, to my wonderful parents who had just me and my older sister Alexandra.
- Studied Fashion Design at the University of Central Lancashire, graduating with a 2:1 BA with honours in 2010.
- My final collection "Twisted Contours" was chosen to represent my University at London Graduate Fashion Week 2010 where we opened up the show on the main stage for the second year running.
- Enjoyed a summer placement in 2010 at Richard Nicoll at his Shorditch studio in London, helping out backstage on his SS10 collection show and in the months running up to the show.
- Moved to Manchester from Cumbria in July 2011 to begin work in my current role as Ladieswear Design Assistant for a major hightstreet supplier, designing Jackets and Coats, as well as trousers, skirts and shorts.
- I have been with my wonderful boyfriend for 9 years now....childhood sweethearts..bork..slushy part over!!
- Favourite Music: i can listen to most things and enjoy them but i am a true dance girl at heart. It doesn't do much for my street cred when i say i'm off to Creamfields but hey, you cant change what you like and i love dance music!! I also love the music my eclectic parents brought us up on; an eclectic mix of The Beatles, Bob Marley, Sade, Eric Clapton, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Lionel Richie (thats just my mum though, just to spare my dad on that one!)
- Top Films of all time: Lock Stock, The Bone Collector, Taken, Transformers, Fast and Furious, Pretty Woman, Dumb and Dumber, Austin Powers, and all of the Bourne films. Im such a boy when it comes to films!!! i love thrillers, actions and comedies.
- I cannot explain how much of a foodie i am. When i'm eating breakfast i'm thinking about dinner, and when i'm having dinner i'm thinking about what to have for my tea when i get home!! I will spend a lot of money on good food but my biggest hate is spending money on crap food!!grrrrr!!
- I have always had a love of styling and design from a young age, i was always an eclectic dresser and had a desire to be different from a young age. My love for fashion only grew with good tuition and lots of encouragement from my senior school art teachers and then the same again when i went to my local Sixth Form.
- My guiltily pleasure; celebrity gossip and all things showbiz! i am obsessed and for every Vogue mag i buy i'll buy three celebrity mags to go with it, which i agree doesn't sound good considering i am a designer but i just have to know who is getting hitched, having a baby or heading for splitzville!!
- On a desert Island the one thing i couldn't live without would be my I-phone!! obviously that is including its internet, apps and face time of course (such a cheat i know).
- My Favourite place in the whole wide world besides home in Cumbria...my home in Portugal.
- By the time i am 28 i must have completed these 5 goals: 1. Travelled America 2.Have a successful career in design and styling 3. Have a successful blog 4. Own my own car (not just share with either my sister or my dad) 5. Learn Spanish!!
- I dont watch TV that much. I don't really have the time now i live Manchester with working late and having much more interesting things to do like blog ;-) but the only program i simply can not miss is Desperate Housewives.
So there you have it, if theres anything else i may have missed, although i very much doubt it from that list drop me a email and i'll add them on..
