Barcelonaaaaaaa!!!
3am start and on the road to Liverpool airport to catch my flight to Barcelona, that was me on Monday, with work.
From the moment we landed it was straight out and ready to kill the shops. First on the agenda was to get off the beaten track and visit the independent back street secrets, the little one-offs that have those key items you cant find on the highstreet.
The shopping in Barca, is seems so fresh and bustling with energy:
My Top 6 Major Barca trends:
1.MINT, MINT, MINT!! Mint was everywhere, in trousers, jersey, accessories, the lot! its such a fresh spring colour and if your a bit scared of wearing the colour all over in a trouser or jacket, its much easier to wear in a cute tea or some flats.
2. Lace. Again lace was in every store we visited, it raged from full on lace dresses tops and shorts, to lace applique and trims on trousers and jackets, tonal as well as in pop colours!
3.Dip-Dye is still going strong, but it seems to be a more severe dip-dye as apposed to the subtle look we have seen previously. The dip-dye effect is a look that can be so diverse, it was in neons, grunge colours, and over the top of floral prints.
4. PU jackets and Leather jackets - the leather biker being the strongest of the shapes but there is no doubt about it, the leather look is still a hit on the highstreet as well as at designer levels. Leather and rib fabric mixing is huge, as well as cream leather; this seems the new colour to freshen up the traditional tough masculine looking black biker.
5. Neon Neon Lights- neon and barca have a love affair it would seem! Neon could be found in graphic tee's, piping on jackets and tops, colour blocked on pants and shorts and full on neon dresses and jeans!

6.Embroidery details - on trousers mainly, this was a way of making a plain skinny a bit more exciting and the image i took of these lush white skinnies tied in the aztec trend seen on the catwalks too.
I had hoped to get some street images, but to be frank not too many people stood out to me, i know this may sound crazy but mostly the people you pass by in the street as tourists, dressed for walking and comfort. The locals have such a laid back style its usually jeans and a tee and thats as adventurous as it gets, PLUS it was going to take someone super hoTT! to make me risk getting my iphone out to take a picture on Las Ramblas!
I did however manage to take a few pics of my new scarf i purchased from a little spanish boutique, the neon brights of the leopard print really pop in the lights of the ZARA changing rooms!!
So although i don't have the images to back it up it was a really successful work research trip and we got some great samples. Today it was back to reality and work after a late return last night i was unbelievably shattered, but my saving grace was my meeting in London with a customer was cancelled, so i escaped the 5am start, i cant really complain!
Busy last few days of the week at work then this weekend i'm off to Cheshire, visiting a friend on Friday then i'm off to Rookery Hall Spa&Hotel on Sunday. Excited!
As always i'll keep you updated, until then
muchios V x
